Review: CLICKid SNAP10 Digital Photo Frame - Movies Games and Tech
-
The CLICKid SNAP10 Digital Photo Frame from CLICKid is an impressive device. I’ve used digital photo frames before and I haven’t been happy. They are clunky, cumbersome, and just a niche product. Accordingly, when I was offered this to review, I didn’t know what to think. Luckily though, it is the perfect companion to both the CLICKid CAM20 and the CLICKid CAM10. Alternatively, if you love to snap photos on your smartphone, this is a great device to show off your favourite shots.
This deceptively simple photo frame is packed full of wonderful tech. It has auto-rotation, motion sensors, a remote control for a straightforward approach, and hidden storage ports. Moreover, it has a touch display to give it that modern edge. This feature was great, but I always had to clean it as kids and touchscreens to not mix. Yet, this is a minor complaint and maybe I should demand my kids clean their fingers before they touch the screen.
The CLICKid SNAP10 Digital Photo Frame follows a traditional photo frame style and an incredibly modern approach. The latter allows friends and family to share images directly to your photo frame. If you wish to do this, you need to install the free-to-download app and share an access code with any friends. Here, they can send you images that can be stored on the whooping 32 GB of internal storage. The internal storage allows you to store thousands of images or hours of video footage. This was fantastic as my kids could capture photos with their friends and then send them directly to the device with minimal effort.
Once photos are installed onto the device, you may alter them to your liking. Whether you wish them to fit the full display, or to have a pleasant border, it is up to you. I didn’t play too much with these settings as I was happy to let the photos scroll as they were in the slideshow. However, if you wish to adjust anything at any time, you can access each photo from the menu and change it to your liking.
This photo frame supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for a straightforward connection. Furthermore, the touchscreen has 10-point actuation and is responsive and easy to set up. Finally, the high-definition IPS Panel has an 800/1280 resolution that can be viewed from a wide angle.
My past experiences with digital photo frames haven’t been good! The picture quality has been poor and I was always in a losing battle. Fortunately, the CLICKid SNAP10 Digital Photo Frame is different. The picture quality is vivid and pleasant to look at. Additionally, the high-definition IPS panel can be viewed from different points. Accordingly, if you sit this on your bedside table, you will be able to see it from multiple locations without undermining the picture quality.
I was impressed by the straightforward set-up and the responsive touch display. Moreover, the app was great and I loved to see whatever photos were sent to the device. Word of warning, if you have friends with a naughty sense of humour, you may wish to censor or check the images before you allow them into your slideshow.
Though the touchscreen was great, I liked the simplicity of the remote control. Flicking through your images and video footage was amazing. Moreover, starting and stopping each video or adjusting the content was a cinch. The remote is well-labelled and mastering the basics was an easy task.
The CLICKid SNAP10 Digital Photo Frame will look great on your wall or a table. The sleek frame is pleasant to the eye and I loved the vibrant display. Furthermore, the hidden ports keep things streamlined. My only complaint is the lack of a built-in battery. This would have tidied things up further and I’d have preferred this option. However, the power cable is slim and it is easy to hide if this is stood on a desk. If you wall mount it, you will have to create a cable management system to keep things tidy.
The rear ports are robust and using a USB storage or memory card is straightforward. I had no issues or concerns that either would become damaged as you removed them from the photo frame. The frame is made of a hardened plastic and can take a few knocks. Yet, I’d be careful not to hit the screen as it could cause permanent damage to the touchpoints.
I thought digital photo frames were a 00s fad. As such, I’ve never considered how much things have changed. Thankfully, this digital photo frame changed my perspective. It delivers an incredible experience that brings friends together. Furthermore, it is easy to use and has a nice modern aesthetic. Yes, I wish there was a built-in battery, but this is a minor complaint. Accordingly, I like it, and I recommend buying it here!
